My Halloween Treat

We adopted this little guy today.  We've been wanting another pooch for a while.  We've been looking on and off for about a year.  I spotted a couple on the web site of a shelter near here that were possibilities, and today was open adoption from 1 - 4 pm.
The two we went to look at were not a good match for us or Olive O, and we spent a good amount of time with each to make sure.
This little guy was in a pen behind us the whole time, and I kept looking back at him.  He was so sweet, and just a tiny little thing.  I bet he doesn't weigh over 9 or 10 lbs.  Olive absolutely loved him, and so did we.  He was found running around in a corn field about 2 wks. ago, in pretty bad shape with fleas.  He still needs some grooming, but we'll wait a little on that until he gets settled in better.
Mr. Moon is calling him Henry, but I haven't decided yet if that will stick.  He does sort of look like a Henry though.  haha!  I'm in love with the little guy!  He is so quiet and so sweet, and fits right in our family.

That wasn't a bad treat at all for Halloween!
Hope you all had a good day!

Till next time,
Terry

~Outdoor decorating~

Hi friends!
Just a quick post to show you what I did out in the front garden bed. Never did get my scarecrow finished all the way. Kept getting called away. So....this is it.

Now I wonder why when I upload a photo, it turns out fuzzy? Does anybody else notice this or do I need my eyes checked? hahaha!

My big pot of yellow mums are finally opened all the way. Got these for 12.00 dollars at the Amish Farm. They would have been at least 29.00 at a Garden Center.

Hmmmm...that one looks fuzzy too! I gotta find out what's causing this! I'm not a pro, but I do take decent pictures.

We had the most fantastic weather lately. It did start raining during the night, but cleared up later this afternoon. Tomorrow will be chilly, but after that, more Indian summer! Love it!

Mr. Moon and his friend have been pickling beets for a few days. They have 4 batches done, and lots more to do. They are going to sell some at the winter market, then give some away as gifts for family members who like them. I've never been a big beet fan, but these are pretty good, especially in a salad.

We had a nice visit from our son and grandbaby, Kierstin last Monday. He drove down from Cleveland last weekend to take her to her first Bengal football game. She loved it. She knows more about football than I do! She just started wearing glasses last week and she looks so darn cute in them! The muscles in one eye are too strong, and causing pulling of the eye to the side a little, so she will have to wear them for a while. Finding glasses to fit a 4 yr. old was challenging, but they finally found a pair that fit pretty good.

We're planning on taking a little day trip soon. Mr. Moon is feeling a little stronger so we're hoping to drive over to Indiana and visit our Amish friends....and my favorite candle shop outlet is near there. Hehe!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Till next time,
Terry

Yippeee-Giveaway Came!

We had a lot of errands to do today, so I didn't get to the post office until later this afternoon. I was so excited when the gal handed me a big box cause I knew what it was! When I got home, the groceries sat out in the car while I rushed inside and tore it open. hehehe!
I'm telling you what you guys...Kath does amazing work! Everything is perfect, and the finish is just prim awesome!

I finally did tear myself away to put the groceries away, but dinner was late because I spent the next few hours playing. Ha! I finally decided where I wanted things to go, and got some photos to share.
Here's where I put the Colonial stacked boxes, the Candlestick, and OMG...she sent me a crow too!!! I love it Kath!!!

Here's where I put the Simplify sign...for now. I may change that later. Do you see the 3 Punkins on the top of the shelf? Those were made by a good friend of mine...Jenn of Bittersweet Prims. I laugh whenever I look at them! Jenn does some fantastic work.

And look at this cute little Olde Sleds sign Kath tucked in the package too. I displayed it with our Santa & Sleigh we designed for Midwest years ago and I think they look so sweet together. It's perfect Kath!

I am just in awe at the talent Kath and Steve has, and I am such a very lucky person to have won this wonderful giveaway! I'm still pinching myself! Thank you Kath and Steve so very much! I'll treasure them forever!

While I was snapping pictures, I took a few more of some of my fall/halloween decor to share.
If you see any cobwebs...it's not my fault! Just ignore them please! hahaha! I've never seen so many spiders trying to take over my house as this year. Ewieeee!!!!

We will have one more day of cold, misty rain, and down right nasty weather, then we'll be having a warm spell for four or five days. I plan on getting the rest of my outdoor decor finished, and put the garden to bed for the season. I don't know about you, but I have felt cheated out of our Indian summer this year, so I'm hoping they have this forecast right this time! I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you all for visiting me. I so appreciate all of your sweet comments, and hope you all have a terrific weekend!
Till next time,
Terry

~Blogger Problems Too~

I don't usually have any problems with blogger, but after my last post, the comment link didn't show up. Now that's a weird one! I'm not even sure I know what to do about it.
Has anyone ever have this happen? Well, I guess that won't do any good because you can't comment to help me. hahaha!
Oh, these things are so frustrating!

Edited to say it did show up on this one...still not there on my last one though.

~Brrrrr! It Feels Like Winter~

I had to pull out my winter coat when I went out to pick peppers today! We're suppose to get a hard frost this weekend, so I thought I'd better get what I could before it did.

I still haven't gotten much fall decorating done outside. Mr. Moon has been down with the flu. It hit him hard, and I imagine it was probably because his resistance was low from the surgery. He's much better now, and his appetite is back.
I did get my little flag out in my front flower bed. It's suppose to warm up to the high 60's next week for several days, so I thought I'd finish up then. If I can keep my man healthy that is! ha!

I've been washing, chopping, and freezing peppers for 2 days. Some I'll give to family, and friends, the rest will
be used for Chili, Pizza, and Mexican dishes this winter. Some are hot, semi-hot, and mild and will taste great when we want a spicy meal when it's cold outside. I love spicy food!

Here's a view from the back of the house looking down to the garden. As you can see our trees are barely starting to turn. Some of the maples in the neighborhood have color, but not many. I'm hoping they all won't drop green this year.

We have friends coming next week when it warms up to help put the garden junk and tools away for the year.

My Burning bush just starting to turn. It usually gets bright, bright red.

Since it's been colder this week, I've been in the mood to cook and bake again. That's probably why I gain weight each winter. ha! I found the best Apple Cake recipe on a blog recently, and for the life of me I can't find it again to give to person credit for such an awesome cake.
For now I'll just post a picture until I find who it was and see if it's okay to post the recipe. If it looks familiar to anyone, please let me know. I have found the best recipes on blogs lately!

I'll end this with a some pictures of my pretty girl. She hates the camera. I have no idea why, but she will not look at me when I have it in my hands.

Please take the camera away Mom - please!

Stay warm everyone, and those facing the Nor'easters on the east coast, I hope it doesn't hit you too badly.

Take care!
Terry
